Biography

KMDA’s owner, Kelly Davis’s entire family is in the construction and real estate industry, so it was natural that her law practice would center around these areas. Kelly was the little girl that would run around the construction jobs in her dresses (to the chagrin of her mother). She now loves what she does and loves all of her contractor clients (even the ones that can’t find any of their signed contracts). Her favorite areas are mechanic’s liens, RCLA claims, contract drafting and negotiations, and duking it out at trial over just about anything. Kelly’s success stems from a combination of a quick-witted charm, her ability to quickly grasp the client’s position and her willingness to tirelessly fight for her client’s cause. This is what keeps clients coming back for years and years.

Kelly’s family has owned and operated a small business for years.  She witnessed firsthand the time and commitment it took to make it a success and understands the difficulties a family business can have on generations to come.  Kelly treats every client like family and strives to protect their interest as she would her own family.

Although committed to her clients, work does not occupy all of Kelly’s time. Most importantly, Kelly has been married for 18 years to the love of her life Stephen. Together they live in Highland Village with their two sons and two Dobie dogs who happen to be the firm’s mascots.  Their weekends are filled with marching band, scouts, church and friends.  And, when they can spare the time, traveling is their favorite pastime.

Kelly Davis brings more than twenty years of experience, determination, compassion, and innovation to her practice.  She represents clients from all segments of the construction industry in all types of construction disputes, including delay and labor impact claims, defective work claims, performance and payment bond, breach of contract, breach of warranty, and mechanic’s and materialman’s lien foreclosure claims. Kelly also assists her clients by handling corporate formation and other corporate issues, reviewing and drafting contracts for their businesses, and perfecting lien and bond rights.  She is a frequent speaker to professionals on construction law topics.
