Carlo Caravetta has been practicing business, corporate and insurance law for over 26 years.  His focus areas have been in construction, commercial, manufacturing and finance for litigation and transactional matters, representing small- to large-cap companies.  His family is originally from Northern Italy, where his grandparents’ trades were blacksmithing and farming.  Carlo began working at the age of 13 in the landscaping business.  He then went on to work in the construction industry as a core driller for commercial buildings and later in the aerospace industry as a machinist.  He followed in the footsteps of his brother to become an attorney, and his natural inclination was towards construction.  Carlo has excellent relationships with his clients as he shares in their desires for successful businesses.

Carlo saw many problems in the construction industry come to light during the wave of construction defect claims in California.  Even though he represented residential and commercial developers, he learned every trade necessary to construct a home, apartment and commercial building.  His career went from insurance defense counsel to private representation of developers, subcontractors, design professionals and companies.  His recent positions have been directly within the companies themselves as General Counsel and as an executive/board member.

Carlo is an avid outdoorsman, rancher and cook.  He spends his spare time raising horses and tending to his ranch.  He is also a devoted hunter, tactical shooter and fisherman.  He brags about raising his chickens and how much better his eggs are than in the store.  Even though being an attorney for him is full of complexities, he keeps his life simple and goes by the saying, “Work smarter, not harder.”  Since his family is originally from Italy, cooking for family and friends is his greatest passion.

Carlo brings over 26 years of corporate, litigation and transactional experience to KMDA.  He manages his clients’ legal business and advises on numerous contractual, litigation and internal matters for companies such as employment, insurance, governance and finance.
